Earrings, necklaces and bracelets that dangle give an outfit an eye-catching sparkle that moves as you do.
You will see dangly jewelry made from semi-precious stones, faux gem stones, moonstone and tiger eye. These earrings have slinkly chains, chandeliers, today are lighter than in the past because of the materials they are made from so they don't stretch out your earlobes. Bracelets often are made of multi chains, fringe,Tiffany 1837 cuff, multicolored beads and charms.
Necklaces have fringe and chain-link loops. Some have double and even triple layers.
"Dangly jewelry is a very big trend," says Amber Herring, cheap tiffany, accessories editor for Self.
"You can find some colorful and fun pieces that update an outfit with just one piece of jewelry," she says. "A lot of these accessory pieces have a tribal influence,Tiffany 1837 cuff, some made of wood in earthy tones or ethnic prints. Big bangles and dangly earrings in colorful prints are great."
If you decide to try this trend,Tiffany Knots cuff, do it one piece at a time, Herring says. Mix the bold piece with your everyday jewelry so that the one dangly accessory makes a statement. Keep the look more subtle for the office by pairing it with basic black.
"This trend can go from casual to dressy depending on what you wear with it," Herring says. "You will see this trend carry into fall. What's nice about dangly jewelry is you can find it at all price points. So you can try it and not have to spend a lot of money trying it."
Dangly jewelry is definitely ethnic inspired, says Gregg Andrews, fashion director at Nordstrom.
"It's a modern take on global themes, so it's not about the literal interpretation," he says. "We are seeing a lot of jewelry that dangles that has intricate cutouts and patterns and designs that conjure up images of the Middle East. Ethnic-inspired accessories never go out of fashion, because they are classic."
This look has a resurgence this summer. You can see it more because it's not covered by lots of clothing.
Before choosing among bracelet, necklace or earrings, decide where the focus is going to be. You don't want the jewelry to look likes it's competing. For example, if you choose dangly earrings, it's better to go with a bracelet than a necklace because the two would be far enough apart on your body to not conflict. The necklace and earrings would be too close to touching, which would make the look too busy.
"A dangly necklace is fabulous with those simple tops you see in summer," Andrews says. "Statement jewelry can really finish and polish a look. There is a definite bohemian gypsy-inspired look when a woman has that tousled hair look and you see elaborate earrings that move and peek out when her hair moves.
"Some of these pieces are so different in a unique, artisan way, that it gives them a one-of-a-kind look. They also are a very big part of pop culture. Some of this jewelry has a history to it."
Dangly pieces of jewelry are typically shiny and skim the shoulders, says David Mamane, CEO of www.MyJewelryBox.com.
"They help to emphasize your face," he says. "Wearing hair up with dangly jewelry elongates the face. Dangly earrings look best when they are worn with sleeveless styles or thin straps.
"Most women can wear dangly jewelry because it thins the face and draws attention to the chest and neckline. Earrings look best when paired with natural makeup and other simple pieces of jewelry. In most cases, if you wear dangly earrings, a necklace is not necessary."
